Employee Leave of Absense
This page explains how a leave of absence affects BeneMoney loan eligibility and repayment expectations.
Loan Availability During Leave
Employees must be in Active status to apply for or initiate a new BeneMoney loan.
- Active = Eligible for new loans
- Any other status = Not eligible, including:
- Paid leave
- Unpaid leave
- Medical leave
- Any other leave of absence
Even if the employee continues to receive pay during their leave, they cannot take out new loans unless they remain officially listed as Active.
Notifications During Leave
Any employee who is marked as on leave will receive a notice from Sunrise Banks.
This notice explains their loan repayment responsibilities while they are away.
Employees may or may not need to take action depending on whether payroll deductions continue.
Loan Repayments During Leave
If the employee continues to receive pay (paid leave):
- Payroll deductions continue as usual.
- The employee generally does not need to take any action.
If payroll deductions stop (typically unpaid leave):
- The employee is responsible for keeping their loan current.
